T HE PORT MAYACA POLO CLUB in Okeechobee, Florida hosted the Molly's House 6th annual Polo & P aella fundraiser on March 5. The Herold-Cadorette Family was the presenting sponsor again this year. Activities began at noon with a dressage presentation by Heather Blitz, and a polo clinic by Paul A. Tripaldi, who demonstrated polo terminology for the non-polo guests. The event also featured a VIP party, Best Hat Contest, car show and a traditional halftime champagne divot stomp. Karin Leone sang the National Anthem to start the match. The match had Beverly Polo's Bill Ballhaus, Lucas Escobar, Ramiro Cordero and Luis Escobar taking on Michelob Ultra's Tiffany Busch, Cecelia Cochran, Jason Wates and Chris Nevins in a fun game. The teams put on a great show for the crowd, ending knotted at 8-8. Chris Nevins was MVP and Luis Escobar's Ella was Best Playing Pony. Proceeds from the event support the mission of Molly's House to keep families together by providing short- term, affordable accommodations for the families of hospitalized loved ones and hospital outpatients on the Treasure Coast. Its Adopt a Family program subsidizes families who are unable to make a donation toward their accommodations. Molly's House is an 11,000 square foot victorian style house featuring two family suites, 12 bedrooms with private baths, a living room, two kitchens, a laundry facility, a chapel, a library and outside areas for relaxing. Molly's House has been keeping families together since 1996 providing a home-away-from-home for more than 17,000 individuals. It is located just three blocks west of Martin Memorial Medical Center and close to downtown Stuart.
