POLO REPORT Stephanie Kent Lindahl, Curtis Lindahl (grandson of Kent), Harry Kent III, and Patrice Kent. They, added to other afficionados from the Northwest, made it a great weekend to culminate the season. As everyone had to travel to the Wolfhair.com’s Gonzalo Tarditto, Marcos Onetto, Bill Hilliard, and Stephanie Preston, and WOASM I’s Mark Sedacca, Scott Barker, Buck Schott, and Trey Schott leading BPP, Tiger Lilly Sieber, Frank Wilkens of the Wilkens family, and Dr. Jerome Fix. Sunday’s consolation game resulted in Fountain Specialist’s defeat at the hands of Wellington Orthopaedic II. Wellington Orthopaedic I then took to the field against Wolfhair.com for the second match. The game was tied 3-3 in the third chukkar until Marcos Onetto scored two goals giving Wolfhair.com the lead. Trey Schott scored on a safety in the fourth chukker, but Wellington Orthopaedic I was unable to recover and Wolfhair.com prevailed 6-4. As demonstrated by the success of this inaugural event, polo has indeed taken root in Cincinnati once again. Cincinnati is well positioned to host local and regional tournaments in the future, as four regulation polo fields are located within 15 miles of Miami Meadows. Circuit Governor, Mark Sedacca, aspires to host regional playoffs and sponsor circuit finals at Miami Meadows. Greater Cincinnati may well become the polo playing capital of the Midwest. The Cincinnati Polo Club would like to thank Dr. Rob Heidt and family, Wellington Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine, and Miami Township for helping to make this event such a huge success. Appreciation is extended to players who traveled from Indianapolis, Dayton, and Lexington to induct Miami Meadows Park and The Congressional Cup for Cincinnati. ᑗᑓᑆᑔᑒᑀᑐ—Mark Sedacca, Buck Schott, Trey Schott, Scott Barker;ᑗᑓᑆᑔᑒᑀᑐᑐ—Austin Heidt, Bill Patterson, Luis Ansola, Miguel Urizar; ᑗᑰᑧᑢᑤᑘᑥ ᑁᑙᑰᑨ—Bill Hilliard, Marcos Onetto, Stephanie Preston, Gonzalo Tarditto; ᑈᑰ#ᑩ∀ᑘᑥᑩᑀᑔᑱᑡᑙᑥᑘᑧᑥ!∀—Dan Lanham, Charlie Hord, Greg Chandler, Will Boland. PACIFIC NORTHWEST SPOKANE, WSU TAKE HARRY KENT MEMORIAL Twelve teams, one field and lots of enthusiasm made for a great weekend on September 24-25 at the White Swan Polo Club in White Swan, Washington. There was picture perfect weather on the first day with the 14,000-foot Mount Adams as a backdrop. Six games were played including just about anyone who could swing a mallet and ride a horse. Teams were divided into three brackets by Gratia Brown and Susan Stovall, daughters of the late Harry Kent, long time polo player, supporter of the sport in the Yakima Valley and namesake of the tournament everyone was gathering for. Players included Pacific Northwest Circuit Governor George Dill who brought his usual trailer load of horses for everyone to play; Bill Weigel of the Spokane Polo Club; Steve, Logan and Melissa Joseph from Le Grande, Oregon; Seth and Brandon Alcott, graduates of the WSU polo team, and their mother, Nancy; and members of the extended Kent family including Jana Kent Isaac, 54 POLO PLAYERS EDITION Valley except for a few local players, timing of the games was critical so all six games could be completed. The MVP for the weekend was 0-goal Scott Robertson, who was injured in a polo accident in late August. He was third man both days and was a goal judge. He will back on a horse in April when the polo season starts in the Pacific Northwest. Play was fast and furious both days with each bracket having a winner. The top level was the WSU Alum team of the Alcotts and Heidi Ness against the home team of Toppenish/Careyes with Gratia Brown, Susan Stovall, Curtis Lindahl, Malia McCoy and Bill Weigel. WSU Alum were the winners in overtime with a goal by Seth Brandon. Bracket II was won by the Spokane Team of Catlin Dix (her grandfather, Peter Dix, was founder of the Spokane Polo Club in the 50s), Cody Williams, Randy Thompson and Kate Sullivan over Team Jackson with Craig Ramsby, Jennifer Phipps, Virginia Jones and Trisha Johnston, 6 to 3. The Bracket III victors were The Townes with the Alcott brothers splitting a position with Kathryn Rickert-Boe, and Maria Card, Pat Waggoner, Jim Berry and Erika Hannah over The Whites with Curtis Lindahl, Ron Peterson, Jana Issac, Heather Bettsworth, and Anni Manley, by a goal. ᑈᑧᑥᑣᑤ∀ᑀᑃᑅᑀᑕᑘᑙᑰᑨᑘ—Rene Skaggs, Tom Skaggs, Nick Winters, Jason Larvik; ᑑᑘ ᑇᑰᑩᑩᑡ —George Dill, Tiamo Hudspeth, Ben Juarez, Gary Dempsey; ᑗᑔᑖᑀᑆᑧ#ᑨ—Seth Alcott, Brandon Alcott, Nancy Alcott, Heidi Ness; ᑕᑰᑱᑱᑡᑩᑥ!ᑤᑂᑇᑘ ᑡ∃ᑡ!—Bill Weigel, Curtis Lindahl, Susan Stovall, Malia McCoy, Gratis Brown; .ᑈᑧᑥᑣᑤ∀ᑀᑄᑅᑀᑔᑱᑰᑦᑘᑩᑡ—Catlin Dix, Cody Williams, Randy Thompson, Kate Sullivan; ᑑᑡᑀᑉ ᑘᑩᑠᑡ—Melissa Joseph, CHRIS LEONIDAS
